Shoppers' Special Excursion

ELDCPS Excursion through the Water Gap

Take a round trip journey on the Phoebe Snow from East Stroudsburg, PA to Scranton, PA and enjoy the fall scenery as you travel aboard our train. While in Scranton, take in the famous murals in the lobby of the Radisson Lackawanna Station Hotel, enjoy a snack or a drink at Tracks, walk down Lackawanna Avenue and visit the art galleries, or check out the new Market at Steamtown.

The train will leave from The Historic Dansbury Depot, 5 South Kistler Street, East Stroudsburg, PA 18301 at 11:00 am and will return there approximately 6.5 hours later. Make your selection and click the the Get Tickets link below or click on the event in the calendar above.

Ride in the lap of luxury in our President's Class on Erie Lackawanna business car No. 2. We have eight seats available in this restored 1930 vintage private car that was recently acquired by the Delaware Lackawanna Railroad. Light snacks and beverages will be served in addition to BYOB welcome in this class.

Dare to visit the Terror Train! Two nights only, October 27 and 28, 2017 at 1313 Ridge Row across from the University of Scranton Royal's Tennis courts.

Tour hours are 7:00 PM to 10:00 PM each night and admission is $10.00/person.  Tickets are available on line or at the event

Santa Trains

Santa TrainThe Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society, in cooperation with the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad, will be running special round-trip excursions on Saturday, December 2, 2017, between 1313 Ridge Row, Scranton PA, through the Nay Aug Gorge and return.

Enjoy a short train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars with Santa Clause and his helpers visiting with all the children aboard.

Station & Parking Information

Trains will depart from 1313 Ridge Row (by the University of Scranton's Poly High parking lot closest to the tennis courts). Parking is free and available in this location

Santa Train

The train will depart from the boarding area at 12:00 PM, 2:00 PM, and 4:00 PM on December 2, 2017. Please be at the platform 30 minutes before departure. Tickets are $25.00 for adults, $18.00 for children 4 to 12 years of age, and free for child 3 and younger.

We have also added a dinner to our 4:00 PM train. Experience dinning aboard a moving train as people did in the past during the golden age of long-distance rail travel. The fare to ride the 4:00 PM train and have dinner in the diner is $87.00 per person. Please click here if the dinner option is not visible in the below ticketing selection. Once on the ticketing site select the 4:00PM train and the Dinner and train ride option will appear at the bottom of the listing.

Train to Christmas Past

The Erie Lackawanna Dining Car Preservation Society, in cooperation with the Delaware-Lackawanna Railroad, and the Gouldsboro Area Foundation will be running a special round-trip excursion on Sunday, December 3, 2017, from Scranton, PA, to Gouldsboro, PA.

Enjoy a train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars from Scranton to Gouldsboro and return. The train will stop at the historic Gouldsboro station for everyone to have the opportunity to explore the restored station. At the station, passengers will enter the Dickensian world of A Christmas Carol with volunteers dressed in period-authentic costumes, featuring stories, caroling, and a visit from Santa, Scrooge, and his ghostly visitors. Hot beverages and food will also be available for purchase.

There will be special performances by local community organizations throughout the station while you visit. This is in addition to other family activities such as children's crafts, storytelling and a visit with Santa Claus.

One train will depart from and return to the parking lot next to the University of Scranton tennis courts off of Ridge Row.

Enjoy a short train ride on our comfortable climate-controlled passenger cars with Santa Clause and his helpers visiting with all the children aboard.
